Painting The Life You Want

Painting the life you want - information forum

The NDIS is coming and if you qualify, you’ll want to understand how to get the very best life with your funding.

NDIS provides the greatest changes to the disability and mental health sectors. It means you control your funding and how it’s used to paint the life you want.

Avivo is running Information Forums for everyone wanting to learn more about how the NDIS will affect them and how to get ready to get the most value and quality of life.

Join Avivo’s Kate Fulton Dip SW, who has over 20 years’ experience. Kate is passionate about individuals directing their own lives and has led on some of the first self-directed support initiatives in the UK, using these experiences to learn some valuable lessons about real system change and empowerment.

The morning and afternoon information session will cover hot topics including:

  • Getting ready to meet with NDIS: How do I get the best out of my meeting?
  • It’s more than simple services. What do I need to live a full life?
  • Understanding self-directed care: I can do what?
  • Calling the shots: Managing all or some of my funding.

Bring along your questions, join in the discussion and take time to enjoy the art on display from local artist Dustin Marshall.

Autism from the Outside In - presented by Judith North

This two day course takes participants through a journey in understanding oneself.

It uses that as a foundation to think about interpreting the world from the perspective of people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. It is packed with experiential learning, real life examples and helps participants understand and feel what it’s like to live with Autism rather than just know the theory.

Lotteries House, Geraldton
