Updated 9 April 2020
Avivo has received extensions for two of our support programs:
- The Family Support Program will continue until 30 June 2021
- The Mental Health Commission Family and Carer Support program will continue until 31 December 2021
From 31 May 2020, the Mental Health Carer Respite program will stop. This will be replaced by the new Integrated Carer Support Service.
New Support Services
The Integrated Carer Support Service (ICCS) commenced on 6 April 2020, and offers a range of services for carers including:
- Carer support planning
- In-person peer support
- In-person counselling
- Carer directed packages
- Emergency respite care.
Services are free for anyone looking after a family member or friend with disability, a medical condition, mental illness or someone who is frail due to age.
How to get services from the ICCS
Support and services can be accessed through The Carer Gateway. Carers WA are the Carer Gateway service provider for WA. Avivo are currently exploring a partnership with Carers WA and we will provide updates soon.
Red Cross Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres (CRCC) will stop providing services on 31 May 2020. Instead, carers calling the CRCC 1800 phone numbers will be connected to the Carer Gateway.
