We’re proud to announce the completion of Avivo’s second Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – Reflect. Over the past 18 months, we’ve laid solid foundations for a successful and ongoing reconciliation journey.

What is a RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan)?
A Reflect RAP helps prepare an organisation for meaningful reconciliation. Commitment to the Reflect RAP begins by engaging staff and leaders in understanding reconciliation’s importance.  It includes building relationships with First Nations stakeholders and identifying where the organisation can make the most impact.

How we started
In the last 18 months, we formed a diverse RAP Working Group to ensure everyone contributes to reconciliation at Avivo. The group includes members from all levels of the organisation – Executive team, Office staff members and regional First Nations Peoples – meeting regularly to discuss and carry out the actions outlined in our RAP.

What it means?
The RAP process reminds Avivo to support First Nations Peoples and their communities better. Everyone is responsible for moving forward with these actions. Embedding accountability across the organisation ensures everyone can play a role in our reconciliation journey.

RAP Artwork
Our RAP artwork, “Shining a Light,” created by proud Gudjala man Fred Knox, symbolises Avivo’s connection to the community and our support in aged care, disability services, and mental health. We extend our gratitude to Fred for his contribution and look forward to seeing more of his artwork in the future.

RAP X D+I = RAPiD
The RAPiD group has been established to oversee both the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and Avivo’s Diversity and Inclusion (D+I) programs. Its members, drawn from the Executive, D+I, and Community Services Teams, represent diverse regions and include both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal individuals. In 2024, the group has scheduled five sessions to collaborate on the goals of these programs.
